HAN

the album KOEL moves between suspended passages and extended, disembodied soundscapes - vast as a sky without horizon - and abrupt plunges into powerful, mechanical electronic grooves, threaded with rough, organic textures. deep vibrations surge upward like sea creatures rising from the depths: formless, shifting masses, rhythmic, abrasive tentacles.

the music of HAN (Annie Aries & Paula Haeni) is shaped by opposing forces: expansion and compression, lightness and pull, surrender and tension. in this first release by the duo, listening becomes a physical, almost animal experience. the audience is drawn into a field of tension composed of raw energies and multilayered textures, of hypnotic states of suspension and diffuse, elusive perceptual spaces.
